Bishop’s Companions Programme
I am very excited about the Bishop’s Companions Programme (BCP) we are launching in 2022 for our Diocese.
This programme is built around our three goals of praying, reading the Bible, and living out the life of Christ and is one element of putting our strategic vision into practice.
The BCP aims to be flexible within a shared structure. Each participant will be paired with a companion/mentor, and together they will shape their course according to the participant’s prior knowledge and experience, and their present needs and interests. The vital thing is that, wherever they may start, each participant expands and deepens their understanding and practice of all three key areas of the Christian life. The shape of the year is explained in the attached brochures and more details are available on our website under “Ministry Resources”.
The programme is designed to be open to all, whether you are a church leader, member of a congregation, or someone beginning to explore faith from the fringes. Think about it for yourself, and spread the word to others. Along with the brochures attached below is a small poster or notice you can display with the brochures in the church.
For more information please contact Anne van Gend enabler@calledsouth.org.nz.
The closing date for expressions of interest is 30 November 2021.
Jesus Christ will not fail his church! And part of his commitment to us in community is his commitment to individuals. Both from the Bible and church history we frequently see how one follower of Jesus leads, encourages and helps disciple another: a pattern that can then continue. I believe as we commit ourselves to Jesus and each other we are able to be the salt and light difference Jesus has called us to.
