Our Archdeaconry meeting in August didn’t quite go to plan as our guest speaker was unwell. Thanks to Jenny Campbell, she was able to find someone else just like that …
I was very grateful that Donna Booth from Age Concern, was willing to come at the last minute, to share some of her experiences, particularly around ‘Elder Abuse’. As I looked around, I could see that we were all riveted to what she was saying. We may have recognised some of the traits from our own family experience or that of friends. Maybe it triggered some thinking around those in our congregations and left us wrestling with how to deal with it. I’m sure Donna would welcome your call.
I look forward to welcoming Cindy Kelly from Southland Respect Network, who was to speak at our last Archdeaconry Meeting. She will give us some insight into her work, particularly around helping families who need support around stopping violence and the other agencies that she engages with.
Richard Johnson will have an update on our visit to the Murihiku Marae and we can look at planning for the rest of the year.
It will be great to catch up after Synod. Bring your lunch with you or buy it locally. I will provide a hot drink for you.
Blessings
Liz
