In March 2019 the Social Transformation Committee made a recommendation to the Diocesan Council to give funding to Parata for a heat pump in their dining room. Mary Pullar, Parata Administrator writes:

Dear Social Transformation Committee Members: On behalf of Parata please accept our sincere thanks for the funding assistance for the new Heat Pump for the Dining Room. The Residents have enjoyed and appreciated the guaranteed warmth over winter and will enjoy the air conditioning features much more in summer in this sun trap! It's great to see how returns from invested funds in the Diocese can make a real difference.
