Thank you. From Rev'd Canon Alec Clark.

Alec Clark —

On Friday I was able to say thank you to so many wonderful people who gave up their time to come to my farewell and the Bishop’s Christmas party. This is to reiterate those thanks, but to also include many people who were unable to be present but sent their apologies.

I am grateful for the kind words that were spoken about me, and to me. Lots of individuals thanked me for support and encouragement over the years. That helps me to know that I may not have wasted mine, or your time.

Also I am very grateful for the gift given to me. I received a book token for me to buy a book of my choosing, and a book plate to go in it to remember the occasion (now will it be a Beatles book, or a train book?) Also there was a cheque, and Jan and I have decided to use this to build our fund to take our family on a holiday to Australia. Most of them have not yet left the country.

My intention is to now take 6 months to do very little (though happy for recommendations of good authors of Murder Mystery cozys, I’m not into all the graphic violence.) After the six months I will see where things head. God being with me, it will be interesting and fulfilling.

So thanks again for all your generosity over the last wee while as I have been retiring, but also thanks for your support, friendship and encouragement over 32 years ministry in the Diocese. I have had a great time. I pray that you all know that God loves you, and where ever the paths of life and the Church may take you, this will be enough.
