Spring Saturdays: Online Ministry Training
Our first Spring Saturday will take place THIS SATURDAY on Oct 19th, starting at 10am. It's created for lay people, but all are welcome to join in!
Session 1, Saturday Oct 19th: "Getting the details sorted" and "Resources for Advent".
All of us have a general idea of how to prepare for doing a reading, or leading intercessions, or being the liturgist for our Sunday Eucharist. But there are many, many little details in our preparation which can help us do it more effectively - hints which may not have crossed our mind which make an enormous difference to our own experience and that of our faith communities.
Liz Cheyne and John Murphy have trained up a number of lay leaders, and they are going to pool their wisdom to give us a thoroughly practical and useful teaching session.
In the second half of the time, John and Anne will introduce you to some beautiful resources and ideas for celebrating Advent, which will soon be upon us! Even if you are not planning to lead or be part of a study group, there may be something here you would like to do by yourself. Or maybe you can gather ideas and ask someone else to lead a small group. It's worth finding out what is available to help us enter deeply into this wonderful season of the Church year.

Lay Ministers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities for learning more about vital aspects of our life and ministry as followers of Jesus. However, all are welcome – lay or ordained!
