Happy Christmas!  Two simple words that contain so much potential excitement for young and old: fun, busyness, family, peace, holidays, presents, food, goodwill, singing, change in so many ways and so on…

Despite the ever-present risk of excess, and the danger of “missing the point” it is still a great sign of people getting together and celebrating in many different ways – not least of which is the presence of God in our lives in surprising and unexpected ways.

Without the frenetic concentrated energy that goes into many of our parties, Christmas could be an icon of Church: getting together, recognising the presence and gift of God, enjoying each other’s company and celebrating…

May the joy, excitement and peace of knowing Jesus Christ be yours this Christmas and every day.
