Andrew Metcalfe —

The Anglican Historical Society is a very respected grassroots organisation of professional historians and historical enthusiasts that anyone can join.

We encourage research on church history, most notably by means of our refurbished website (https://www.historyanglican.nz/). At our annual general meeting two weeks ago, Archbishop Sir David Moxon praised our work, stating that it has assisted (among other things) the Waitangi Tribunal.

However, to the executive's dismay, the membership of the AHS is largely limited to the Diocese of Auckland. I myself am the only executive member in the South Island, and one of only two members in the Diocese of Dunedin. For this reason, the AHS is seeking new members in this diocese.

Everyone is welcome to join. Membership is currently free, though starting from the next financial year a modest annual membership fee will take effect to pay for the updated website, etc.

Those interested in joining are invited to email Tony Surman, the AHS secretary, at historyanglican.nz@gmail.com.
