South Centre is a Community Work Agency providing supportive and educational services in the Invercargill area for older people and children-tamariki. We have vacancies for Board Members, closing date for applications is now 29 January 2020

The Board is looking for up to 4 people who have an interest in supporting South Center's governance as the South Centre organisation continues to offer a range of services in Invercargill. 

Applicants for any Diocese of Dunedin Social Care Sector Board positions ideally would have experience in: governance; knowledge and broad understanding of financial systems; understanding of health sector, especially community based services for children and older people; understanding of how organisations work; clinical governance experience; strong people skills including negotiation and conflict resolution. 

The person would need to be able to sign a Charities Declaration and Declaration of Adherence for Trust Boards.

The South Centre Board have identified the following  specific skills that would be useful to complement existing Board members:

• Skills in understanding and promoting good financial management 
• Practical knowledge around plant/buildings to identify future needs and priorities
• An understanding of health, including the typical health needs of South Centre clients as well as operating within a non-governmental health setting
• Knowledge and understanding of social care settings
• Theological and biblical understanding to help develop South Centre as an Anglican agency (e.g. someone who is a Priest or has a similar background/experience)
• Knowledge of and connections with local Iwi (ideally an Iwi representative) to fulfill our obligations under te tiriti o te Waitangi.
• Can provide independent Community Representation on the Board
  
• Skills and understanding of digital technology that could assist the development of this at South Centre.
