Education for Ministry (EFM) Update

EFM —

EFM continues to provide a good grounding in theological reflection methods, and is a well-established adult education programme. Please read on for information received from the Executive Officer of EFM NZ....

Valda McBeth writes:

Education for Ministry (EFM) continues to provide a good grounding in theological reflection methods, and is a well-established adult education programme.

During the fours year programme participants study the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, the history of the Church, theology, ethics and interfaith encounters.

The programmes resources are reviewed annually and include Reading & Reflection Guides, and contemporary textbooks. The EFM programme in Aotearoa New Zealand includes a ten week module on the history of the Church in this land, which is also available as a 12 week stand- alone module – a great introduction to EFM and a useful short study course for those who wish to learn more about the history of the Church in Aotearoa.

We are always keen to hear from anyone who is interested in joining the programme either as a participant, or is willing to attend EFM Mentor Training and may be willing to mentor an EFM group in their area.
