Back by popular demand – the Christmas story and carols led by our rangatahi on their instruments with a Christmassy shared kai to follow. Candles, Advent wreath, lots of fun interactive bits - this would be a great service to bring any children or young people to, with whom you’d like to share the story of Christmas, and some beautiful traditional carols (but with electric guitars!)

Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love divine;
Love was born at Christmas;
star and angels gave the sign.
(Verse 1 of the poem by Christina Rossetti , published 1885)
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas, we reflect this Advent that our world continues to be one of pain, uncertainty and anxiety. It is more important than ever to remember that Jesus Christ is God With Us (Emmanual), and this is always a message of Love, Peace and Reconciliation.
As you connect with friends, strangers, your own family-whanau, join with the whole company of Saints and Angels in heaven proclaiming “Glory to God in the highest, and Peace to all people on earth...” (Luke 2: 14).
Have a wonderful Christmas and a love-filled 2025
The Venerable Jan Clark, Vicar General
