Looking back at an Electoral College
Part of the process of an Electoral College is for all conversations that took place during this to remain confidential. Electoral College Members (your Synod Reps) have been reminded of this: they are not able to reveal who the candidates for the post of Bishop of Dunedin were or any other discussions that took place. This maintains confidentiality for all candidates who were willing to be nominated: it is not like a typical secular election situation where there are "winners and runners up"; all of us are encouraged to support, work with - and pray for - our new Bishop.
There will be a procedural minute from the Electoral College that will be included in the Diocese of Dunedin 2024 Yearbook, due to come out early 2025.
Below (attached) is the Commissary's Charge to the Dunedin Electoral College on 22 November 2024 as well as a couple of photos from the public worship service that took place at the Electoral College. We are so grateful to all those who took part in this process to bring a nomination for the 11th Bishop of Dunedin.
