Year 7: A Big Year of Activities

Ms S Georgopoulos —

As we come to the end of the school year it is wonderful that our Year 7 students have shown themselves be adventurous, energetic and keen to learn.

They have proved to be students who want to participate in our school community by joining in the SRC,Grade Sport, Dance and Music Ensemble or Visual Arts enrichment programs.

Most of all they have demonstrated that they care about each other and seek help for their friends if are in need and are learning how to settle their differences in a safe and mature way.

For me personally, the highlight of the year was organising and going on our School Camp to Broken Bay. I was full of nerves and trepidation trying to prepare for all the possible things that could happen when taking 165 students by ferry to an amazing facility next to water. To my utmost joy not only did we bring home all our students safe and sound, but I got to see firsthand that this cohort of students are truly making connections and embracing life at Dulwich High School of Visual Arts & Design.

So Year 7 be proud of what you have achieved in 2023, you have completed a full year of high school with grace and enthusiasm. You will know what 2024 will look like for you without the anxiety of not knowing where E block is or what to do if feel unwell – you will know what to expect. This knowing should fill you with optimism for 2024 as you now know that you have the skills and the ability to do High School!
