TAS Students Display Impressive Designs at their First Evening Design Market
For the first time, our annual Design Market took place in the evening so parents and the community could participate in the event.
Our Design Market was a highly successful event, as it saw many Design students create and showcase interesting and innovative designs. There was a wide variety of products and packaging created by NEO Food Styling and Photography, Industrial Technology, Textiles Technologies, Food Technology, Design and Technology Jewellery and Photography and Digital Media students.
These included delicious food products such as chocolates, biscuits, savoury items and fruit juice, jewellery designs, key rings, bags, phone pouches, lamps, wooden boxes, bookmarks, phone holders and much more. Our Support Unit team had a very popular wax wrapping paper and candles stand which sold out very quickly. Overall, a was a very successful activity!
We would like to thank everyone for their support for this entrepreneurial event and the teachers who helped students to put together Design Market 2023.

The design market was an opportunity to be creative and innovative in the making and selling of a product. My experience with the design market gave me the freedom to create a product that I had wanted to make for a long time. In Design and Technology, we were informed to come up with an idea for a mass-produced product, some made jewellery, making use of the laser cutter, to construct their creative and individual ideas. Others made use of sewing machines to create bags and bookmarks. Nevertheless, the design market was a cooperative effort from many classes like Textiles, Food Tech, Maker Space, Timber and more as they produced useful, beautiful or delicious products for the students and parents to enjoy.
