Let's Talk Workshops
On Thursday 13 February, our Year 7 students and Teaching Staff participated in Let’s Talk workshops delivered by Man Anchor.
These sessions engaged, educated, and empowered students to have meaningful conversations about health and mental wellbeing within their families and peer groups.
During the one-hour workshop, students explored key aspects of mental health, including:
✅ Understanding mental health in Australia
✅ Prevention strategies and early intervention
✅ Identifying signs and symptoms
✅ How to reach out and offer support
✅ The treatment and referral process
✅ Available resources and the importance of self-care
Led by a qualified facilitator, the workshops took place in a relaxed and inclusive setting, with a focus on breaking down stigma and encouraging help-seeking behaviours.
Later that day, teaching staff also participated in their own workshop during the staff meeting. This session provided staff with important insights into recognising warning signs in their own mental health and strategies to support both themselves and their students.
We encourage parents and carers to continue discussing these topics at home to reinforce the key messages. Our School Wellbeing team remains available for any student who may need additional support following the session.
Founded to promote positive change in how mental health is discussed, Man Anchor has grown into a movement that champions mental wellbeing for all through education and awareness.
We hope that by introducing these conversations early in the year, we have provided our Year 7 students with valuable knowledge and skills for their high school journey.
