Cakes, bakes and young artists at the Dulwich Hill Festival Sept 17

P & C Dully High —

It was a busy lead up to the fair as the P&C worked with the teachers to pull together some ambitious ideas for the Student Art and Design Stall.

With the last village fair in 2019, it was an opportunity that the P&C were keen to continue the ambition to create a stall where students could share their talent and skill and benefit from the experience of selling their work to the wider local community. The students who registered their interest included custom totes sewn by the student Empowered Women's Association at lunchtime, gorgeous bags, knitted and crocheted flowers, jewelry, etchings, badges, ceramics and much more.

Using local printers, the P&C also created custom tea towels using the art of a Yr 10 student. An artist fee was pad for the use of the work with swing tags telling the story of the Art.

Working with the school and one of the Neo design classes, custom Tees were created using a design if the words Inner Chill Ville. The winning Year 9 student was awarded with an Artist Fee for the use of their art.

The gross sales took over $7k which was an outstanding result. All funds raised will 100% go towards to the students for their work and to the Student groups in the school.

Thank you to the volunteers and the donation of delicious baked goods. The stall looked full of spring with it's bright cheery bunting and welcome sign. The goods streamed in over the course of the morning, with many a proud grandparent dropping off beautifully baked and decorated entire cakes that were sold too quick for us to enjoy getting pics! The stall completely sold out bringing just over $1,300 in sales. More than the funds raised, it is a chance for us to connect and belong to the wider Dulwich Hill locale. Our stalls were a great success and much appreciated by all who purchased goods.

Term 3 Life Drawing - WONDER WOMAN

The life drawing model for this term was a fun evening with the model dressed in a Wonder Woman costume that was pared with classic super hero and traditional poses for the observant artists to draw.
