Sydney East Netball Knockout Competition: A Day of Skill, Sportsmanship, and Teamwork

Ms Lukezic, PDHPE Teacher & Senior Sport Coordinator —

On April 3rd, 2025, 12 female students from Years 9-10 participated in the Sydney East Netball Knockout Competition against Woolooware High School.

This exciting home game was played on familiar ground in the COLA, with a strong show of support from students across different year groups. Specifically, student volunteers to assist with the game - Tara from Year 12 who umpired the game and Liv from Year 10 who score kept and assistant coached.

Woolooware High School quickly took the lead with their skilled senior team, but our students demonstrated great resilience. By the second and third quarters, they closed the gap, showing significant improvement and determination.

Though Woolooware ultimately won by the final whistle, our team walked off the court proud of their effort. The real highlight was their exceptional sportsmanship. From constant communication to cheering each other on, they showed great teamwork and positivity, regardless of the score.

While the result didn’t go our way, the experience and growth were invaluable. Our students faced a strong opponent and gave their best, which is something to be proud of.

Well done to all players for representing our school with such dedication and pride. I look forward to seeing you all showcase your talents at the next competition!
