Acting Up!

Dulwich High School of Visual Arts & Design —

I have had the pleasure of sitting in the Principals chair this term and although it has been busy it has also been very rewarding as I have continued my role in supporting the well-being of students and driving our ongoing evidence based educational initiatives.

As we farewell our Year 12 class of 2022 I would like to wish them well for their upcoming HSC Examinations starting early term 4. Congratulations on all your schooling achievements.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers who have supported our students throughout their schooling at DHSVAD, especially those who guided them through the challenges of completing their HSC, I'm sure they are all very grateful. I took the opportunity to view many of the major works and was very impressed with the quality and obvious commitment of our students that resulted in such great outcomes.

Both Year 11 and Year 12 students responded well to external providers Elevate who presented the workshops "Finishing Line" and "Ace Your Exams" equipping students with range of hard skills that if applied will assist them with planning and managing study routines.

As our current Yr 12's move on, we welcome in our new Yr 12's  2023 in term 4. Now is the time for them to reflect on the past year and to set goals for their upcoming HSC courses. As a school we encourage students to take time to set SMART goals:

S = Specific

M = Measurable

A = Attainable

R = Relevant

T = Time-based

Taking time out to think about goals is a great way to set intentions for the year ahead.

We had the opportunity to celebrate and show appreciation to our SASS Staff  for their invaluable contribution to the school. Not a day goes by without coming into contact with work  or support of one of our SASS. Thank you SASS!!

I wish everyone a restful and relaxing holiday.
