7MO takes on Kangourou sans Frontières maths challenge

Mr S Casimiro, Head Teacher Admin, Maths Teacher —

Class channels their problem solving skills in international maths competition

At the end of Week 8, Mr Casimiro’s 7MO class participated in the international maths competition Kangourou sans Frontières.

This competition founded in France, is formed by maths lovers from all over the world. It is motivated by the importance of mathematics in the modern world and is designed to share the passion and joy of mathematics, by promoting a positive perception of maths in society.

It involves an online test where questions inspire ideas, perseverance and creativity. The competition requires imagination, basic computational skills, logical thinking and other problem solving strategies.

7MO conducted the test in their normal timetabled class and were incredibly focused and challenged. There was quite a bit of discussion and friendly debate on the questions and the strategies that they used to solve them.

Dulwich High School of Visual Arts & Design is incredibly proud of these students who have shown great courage and gumption to utilise their problem solving skills.
