Breakfast Club

Stephanie, Student Support Office —

Helping by giving students the best start to the morning

The program has achieved its stated purpose of making healthy food available to students who have missed breakfast at home, or are simply feeling hungry before school.

More broadly the club aims to foster positive student engagement and learning, it has also assisted in building connections between students and wellbeing staff, apart from having food available there are also affirmationations for students to take that can help encourage and motivate them to start their day on a positive note.

To date the club has been accessed 930 times.

The Breakfast Club operates Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:15-8:40am, to date the club has been accessed 930 times.

Below are some quotes from students about what Breakfast Club

"It gives me energy to do school work."

"Incredible, inspirational and needed."

"It's really, really good."

"It's good, I don't normally have breakfast."

"It has good food."

This feedback from students demonstrates the impact of the program over the year. Importantly, it also builds on the value of having food accessible for students in order to support overall wellbeing.

Thank you to the P&C for allocating funds to the program in Term 3.

We look forward to continuing to offer the Breakfast Club at DHSVAD next year.
