Celebrating Your Drama Journey, Congratulations Graduates!

Mr Leggett, Year 12 Drama Teacher —

I wanted to give you all a shout out in our school newsletter and share some photos from our HSC Drama course. It has been an incredible journey, and I've been honored to be your teacher for the past two years. Our class has truly been something special.

We all met in Year 11, where you studied and performed A Streetcar Named Desire

You studied some of Australia’s dramatic traditions…

…as well as two absurdist plays (In case you’re wondering… that is a dead cat prop).

Sometimes you found yourself alone on the stage…

And sometimes you had your classmates with you…

…even if the situation was tense and called for a little divine intervention, you always knew the ensemble was there and had your back.

We went out and enjoyed the theatre together…

And no matter what, we were always supported by the great Mr Quaglia, who helped mark performances, attended weekend workshops and supported you in completing your major works and getting to the end of this mammoth course. Indeed, he is now a little part of all of us…

On behalf of the class, thank you Mr Quaglia for being such an important part of our journey, and for your incredible contribution to my teaching as well as Year 12’s learning and wellbeing. We really couldn’t have got there without you.

To my dear Year 12's, it has been an absolute blast accompanying you on this journey. Your growth as theater makers and young adults has been incredibly rewarding, and your sense of humor has brought so much joy. Bravo!

I want to wish you the best of luck in your examinations and in your lives beyond school. You've got this!

Look at this focused bunch of students! You got this, Year 12.

And please, don't forget to stay in touch with your teachers. We would love to hear from you in the future.

Wishing you many days of ‘slay’ ahead,

Mr Leggett

Teacher, Year 12 Drama

P.S. Thanks for getting me half way to understanding what ‘slay’ means in the way you teenagers use it. I’m hoping my 9 Drama class will get me the rest of the way there.
