Students given an Insight into what it's like to have a Career in the Navy
Students from Years 10 and 11 were invited to explore careers in the Navy, visiting an exhibition at the International Convention Centre where they learned about pathways for sailors, officers, technicians, trades and much more.
The day involved learning about (and trying on) Navy gear and equipment, meeting servicemen and women in a range of roles (Some boys incredibly got a photo with General Campbell, the Chief of the ADF), and receiving an exciting tour of the HMAS Adelaide.
Our group was ferried from Darling Harbor in a LLC (Light Landing Craft) right into the hull of the huge transport vessel. As the pictures show, the day was dynamic, action packed and gave students a clear sense of what life is like in the Royal Australian Navy. Ship ahoy!
