Pulse Alive 2025: Dance Ensemble Students Showcases Unwavering Commitment and Passion

Ms Lukezic & Ms Swadling, Dance Ensemble Coordinators —

On March 21st, 30 DHSVAD Dance students travelled to Ken Rosewell Arena to participate in Pulse Alive 2025 - a large-scale event with over 5,000 K-12 students from across NSW participating.

DHSVAD had 30 students performing in various segments: Annabelle H (Year 9) and Sofia G (Year 12) as featured dancers in multiple items, 22 students from the Mixed Dance Ensemble performing in the Secondary Dance item 'Funky Town', and six Aboriginal dance students performing with the First Nations Dance Ensemble in 'Milkali 2000'.

These students have dedicated countless hours over the past 8 weeks to learn choreography during Tuesday morning practices, lunch and after-school rehearsals, and additional sessions at Netball Central. Rehearsals were long, lasting up to 6 hours, with the performance day extending to 14 hours.

Through it all, they demonstrated incredible perseverance, honing their choreography, performance skills, and collaborating with peers, schools across NSW, and professional choreographers from the Arts Unit.

Ms. Lukezic, Ms. Swadling, and Ms. Mora are incredibly proud of these students. We hope they had a fantastic experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching them shine. We look forward to seeing them excel in future Pulse Alive events.

Congratulations to the DHSVAD dancers on their outstanding achievements!
