A year of change - our Yr 8 students have seized numerous opportunities to shine outside the classroom.

Year 8 Advisor Report

For Year 8, 2022 has been a year of continued change. They have said goodbye to their previous Year Advisor, Ms Handran-Smith, who had provided them with immense support right from the beginning of Year 7. They have enjoyed continued support from Ms Lumkin, the Assistant Year Advisor and also warmly welcomed myself, Ms Crowe, into the role.

It has been magnificent to observe the ways in which Year 8 have participated in all aspects of the school community. Beyond their continued academic engagement - evidenced by the abundance of Merit Certificates handed out at every Year Meeting - Year 8 have also seized numerous opportunities to shine outside the classroom. 

Many have confidently delivered performances in drama, music and dance through the Winter Gala, Spotlight Dance Festival and School Spectacular. Others have tirelessly worked behind the scenes providing essential organisational support in the coordination of school events. The entire cohort also had the opportunity to attend the Year 8 Gala days, with a number demonstrating their athletic prowess and, of course, everyone cheering the achievements of their peers.

I look forward to seeing what this cohort has awaiting them as they venture into their Stage 5 studies.
