Students from Years 10 and 11 recently participated in Sydney Local Health District’s work experience program, spending a week at hospitals including Canterbury, Rozelle and RPA.

They gained a rare opportunity to observe and assist health professionals in a range of roles including nursing, radiology, midwifery, orthoptics, podiatry and physiotherapy.

Our students are interested in many different health careers, and were able to express their questions and speak one on one with different workers in our public health care system.

Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive – here’s what Angelique from Year 10 had to say about it:

“The placement was a very interesting experience as it gave me a good insight into the hospital system. I have a lot of respect for the people working in the health district, and that’s increased though seeing how difficult their jobs can be”
