Yr 9, Hard Work and a Positive Attitude Pays Off!
The Year 9 cohort have enjoyed another successful term, rounding out a year filled with growth and achievement.
Their Semester 2 reports have reflected an outstanding commitment to learning towards their academic studies, which I look forward to seeing flourish as students move into their Year 10 courses.
In Semester 2, some outstanding events have included the self-defence sessions run by the PDHPE faculty, in which students learnt how to diffuse conflict situations and respond in situations.
Elsewhere, students have continued to show flair and creativity in their contributions to the creative and performing arts. I was fortunate enough to be an audience member as Year 9 Drama students performed scenes from Henrik Ibsen’s Realist masterpiece ‘A Doll’s House’. Students demonstrated their impressive acting and movement skills while collaborating with a scene partner.
Most recently, 53 Year 9 students participated in Peer Support training with Ms Stephanie Mora, Ms Reagan and myself. They are preparing to support the incoming Year 7 cohort and I look forward to seeing their maturity and leadership skills thrive as the 2023 Peer Support program takes place next term.
After a busy year, I wish all Year 9 students a happy and restful summer holiday and look forward to seeing them when they return next year.
