NESA 2020 HSC Update
Dear Year 12 Students and Parents, NESA have just released a statement about the 2020 HSC:
- The HSC written exams will proceed as planned later this year.
- HSC results will be released in mid December as originally planned
- Written exam timetable will be released 15 May 2020
- Due dates for major works in Visual Arts and Industrial Technology will be extended by two weeks.
- The marking process for Visual Arts Body of Works and Industrial Technology Major Works have been changed and marks will be provided by teachers. This is because teachers are best placed to consider the extent of any disruption experienced by their individual students due to the COVID-10 pandemic, as they have been closely monitoring their students' work since Term 4 2019. Student portfolios will be marked externally.
In light of these developments, it is now clear that Year 12 students should continue with their remote learning and seek advice from their teachers when needed. It is imperative that assessment tasks are undertaken and submitted for marking.
It is therefore strongly advised that Year 12 students attend their designated Live Online Lessons and the Clarification of Learning lessons as scheduled by their teachers
We will communicate with you before the end next week regarding which day Year 12 are expected to attend from week 3 (11th of May)2020
We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you advised of any developments.
This is good news Year 12. We now have clarity and certainty as to what to expect in relation to your HSC. We look forward to seeing you all in future weeks.
Take care, be safe and keep well
Ms C. Alves
