KERBSIDE COLLECTION UPDATE

Dunedin City Council —

A brand-new app to help with our new kerbside collection service will be available to download at the end of the month.

The existing DCC app will keep working until the new service starts on 1 July, but you can download the new DCC Kerbside Collection App ahead of it starting. The app will replace the existing one to supply everything you need to know about our upgraded kerbside collection service.

It will include a calendar showing what bins go out and when, collection day reminders and alerts if there are changes due to holidays or bad weather. It also has information about what goes in each bin. Settle those family debates fast! The new app will make it easy to report a missed bin collection and request new, additional or replacement bins or repairs.

You can search and download the DCC Kerbside Collection App on the Google Play or iOS App store from the start of June.

The delivery team is still busy distributing the new food and garden waste and rubbish bins to households on collection routes. Store them away until 1 July. Keep using your yellow-lidded and blue bin as usual. Inside your new bins you’ll find a helpful booklet with a tear-off kerbside collection calendar, details about what goes in each bin, tips on reducing waste, and more.

Translations and a short version of the information booklet are available online.

The sale of prepaid DCC black rubbish bags will end on 30 June. Plan ahead and only buy enough DCC licensed bags to see you through until the new service begins. Our kerbside collection team won't be collecting the DCC rubbish bags from 1 July.
