Changes to minimum floor levels

Building Services Team —

In our May publication we advised that the Dunedin City Council was responding to concerns following the 2015 floods by introducing new minimum floor levels.

The new floor levels are mainly for residential buildings, including new homes, house extensions and rest homes, across low lying parts of the city.  In most areas, these levels will be higher than the current requirements.

A map showing spot heights recorded for the 2015 flood levels and two metre contours is now available on the DCC website.

The new rules apply to all houses below the two metre contour.

Please visit the DCC Website for more information.
