You are probably aware we have been experiencing issues with meeting the 20-working day statutory timeframe in which to issue a building consent. We understand the delays are frustrating and sympathise with builders and homeowners.  

Please be assured we are taking steps to resolve the issue. We are currently recruiting additional staff and sending applications to external contractors to process.  In addition, consent processors are working overtime.
