When a project goes as long as the Peninsula Connection has, local residents get to know many of the faces on the team. In this newsletter, we want to introduce you to Alex Sutherland, who is Fulton Hogan’s construction project manager for the Broad Bay and Portobello sections.

Alex is not new to the project, having worked on two earlier sections of this significant transport project. Alex’s role means he has a hand in every part of delivering the project safely whilst planning and managing the work programme.

Alex balances work with a young family and has been committed to surf lifesaving for 14 years. He has a reputation for quality work and dedication, which he has brought to all sorts of civil engineering projects: road, rail, streetscapes, slip repairs, bridges and tunnels. When asked what drives him on, he says, “I like to see the best possible outcome for the communities that will be using these assets long after we have left.”
