Work is underway to identify priority buildings and routes in the medium seismic risk areas Sutton and Middlemarch.

We are also working towards reviewing the voluntary assessments provided by building owners prior to 1 January 2021, and buildings that were previously placed on the DCC register that were likely to be earthquake-prone. 

These building owners will receive a letter from us in the coming months advising we are reviewing their assessments and the fees associated with our review. 

The building owner will be given an opportunity to review their seismic assessment to ensure it has been done in accordance with the methodology. They can submit a new assessment if required.  

Any new voluntary seismic assessments lodged from 1 January 2021 will automatically be assessed and a fee charged.
