Dunedin Heritage Fund
The Dunedin Heritage Fund allocated $163,000 in heritage grants across 7 projects in the October 2021 funding round. These projects included roof replacement with traditional materials, window repairs and retrofit double glazing, and major structural and underpinning works. The largest grant offer was given to the high profile former Otago Education Board offices at 33 Jetty Street, for structural strengthening works to aide in the adaptive reuse of the building into residential apartments.
The Heritage Fund can provide incentive funding for a wide range of works. Further information can be found on the Dunedin City Council website. The Fund has four rounds a year and is accessible to all eligible heritage building owners. The next round of the Heritage Fund closes on 31st January 2022. Details, including how to apply, are available on the Dunedin City Council website. Please note, the Fund is not able to support work already underway prior to application or the GST component of project costs.
