Future Development Strategy Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in early engagement on the Future Development Strategy (FDS) in April/May this year.
Work is progressing well and we plan to notify the draft FDS on 31 Jan 2024. We will hold public information sessions to explain the FDS and answer questions in early February, and the public will have one month from 31 January 2024 to make a submission on the draft strategy.
The submission process will be integrated with submissions on the DCC’s draft 10 year plan (as well as the ORC’s long term plan process) allowing submissions on the FDS with potential financial implications to be considered as part of both councils’ long term plan processes.
We encourage everyone to have their say on both the FDS and the 10 year plan.
Early engagement on DCC’s 10 Year Plan – Open to 31 October 2023
The Dunedin City Council is now asking for early feedback on its next 10 year plan. We’re checking in with the community now and will be talking with you in more detail next year as we develop our draft 10 year plan for 2024-34. Getting the community’s early feedback now helps us build a draft plan for formal consultation in March-April 2024.
We’ll be working hard to strike the right balance between keeping rates affordable while still doing what needs to be done to ensure we meet our community wellbeing responsibilities.
To help strike this balance, we want to find out what matters to you (in terms cultural, economic, environmental and social wellbeing) and what is important for the city over the next 10 years.
You can provide feedback via an online survey and a comments wall available at www.dunedin.govt.nz/10yp24. Feedback is open until Tuesday, 31 October 2023.
