Threading Whare Charitable Trust Coordinator
The Threading Whare Charitable Trust is establishing a craft workspace for women refugees and migrants in North East Valley and they are looking for a Coordinator.
The candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the workspace. The role is five days a week, Monday to Saturday. The position is initially a six month contract and if further funding becomes available, it may be extended.

Work and Income Changes
Main Benefit increasing on 1 July 2021
From 1 July, all main benefits will increase by $20 per adult, per week. This will happen automatically, but does not apply to NZ Super or Veteran’s Pension rates. When benefit rates change, it may affect other payments e.g. Temporary Additional Support or Accommodation Supplement which means supplementary payments may decrease.

Money for study
From 1 July 2021, the Training Incentive Allowance will support degree-level study for sole parents on a benefit, or carers and disabled people on Supported Living Payment.
Training Incentive Allowance helps with upfront and ongoing costs of study, such as fees, books, transport, and childcare costs. From 1 July until 1 January 2025, people can apply for Training Incentive Allowance for study at levels 4-7.

Making it easier to get Orphan’s Benefit and Unsupported Child’s Benefit
From 1 July 2021, there are changes to the eligibility criteria for the Orphan’s Benefit and the Unsupported Child’s Benefit. There is no longer a minimum period the caregiver must support the child . For example, someone might be looking after a child while the child’s parent is suffering from a serious illness or incapacity and is unable to provide day-to-day care and responsibility for the child. .

When tender documents are loaded/advertised, registered suppliers will be notified.
ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 (CWC22) is coming to Aotearoa from 4 March to 3 April 2022 with a global audience of millions expected to tune into the tournament.
The best cricketers in the world will go head-to-head in six cities across the country including: Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and we’re calling on locals interested in volunteering at matches during tournament time to apply online now on the ICC Website.
Up to 750 volunteers will join the ‘CWC22 Crew’ as we stage cricket’s pinnacle event with 31 matches being played across 31 action-packed days.
The CWC22 Crew will be needed in a range of roles, each requiring different skills and experience. In Dunedin the games will take place on 5, 7 and 9 March.

SBS Bank Dunedin Volunteer Awards
Kaitūao o te Taitonga | Volunteer South and SBS Bank are pleased to announce the inaugural SBS Bank Dunedin Volunteer Awards!
With the Trustpower awards disestablished, Volunteer South has been looking for ways to support the voluntary sector, recognising and celebrating the amazing tūao and hapori groups in Dunedin.
The SBS Bank Dunedin Volunteer Awards has a website specifically for the awards, and a Facebook page - have a look and see what awards there are. You are welcome to nominate your own organisation for the community category. Nominations opened on 1 July.

Accredited Employer Work Visa
From 1 November 2021, the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) will replace 6 of the existing temporary work visas. In preparation for the introduction of the AEWV, 3 of the existing accreditation and approval in principle policies are being phased out from 30 June 2021.

Studio2 has received some extra funding for the next three years and are able to expand their creative space.
From 12 July, Studio 2 will be open all week from 9am - 12pm and after lunch from 1pm - 4pm.

Nominations open now for Keep Dunedin Beautiful Awards
The annual Keep Dunedin Beautiful Awards celebrate and honour Dunedin people who are committed to beautifying our city and caring for our environment through volunteer action.
Nominations are now open for schools, community groups, individuals and businesses who have gone above and beyond in environmental and sustainability projects in the past year.
Submit your nominations to keepdunedinbeautiful@dcc.govt.nz by Sunday 11 July.
Winners will be announced at an awards function in early August.

Food Secure Communities Implementation Fund
MSD’s Food Secure Communities (FSC) Team are pleased to announce that a further funding round is now open: FSC Implementation Fund.
The $2 million FSC Implementation Fund is for communities to implement or scale up sustainable initiatives which will increase access to affordable and healthy kai within low-income communities and / or enable Māori to exercise tino rangatiratanga over food systems that feed and nourish whānau. These initiatives intend to reduce the dependency on foodbanks and food hardship grants.
The fund is currently open until 25 July 2021. More information and the digital application form is available on the website.
Dunedin Community Accounting
The answer to your club's accounting questions. Dunedin Community Accounting is a free, volunteer service for non-profits.
Senior accountancy students from the University of Otago provide answers and practical help under the supervision of a Chartered Accountant.
