In our December 2017 publication of Reinforce we advised our policy for peer review and PS2 (Producer Statements) requirement for structural design work.

The policy triggered valuable feedback from industry which led us to undertake a consultation process with a cross section of local engineers. 

We recognise that every piece of design work is unique and that it is not practical to lock down a concrete set of rules.  For this reason, we have settled on ‘guidance’ (attached to this article) rather than the set trigger points that were included in our original policy.

We will continue to accept feedback and expect to undertake further reviews which may result in amendments to the guidance over time.
