The planning check of a building consent application

Building Services Team —

The planning check of your application for building consent is faster if all the relevant planning information is provided.

A little under half of all applications for building consent will be checked by a Council Planner. They are required to check to see if the proposal complies with the District Plan or if a resource consent is required.

If all the relevant information is not there the process will slow while the planner waits for the information. This may be sorted quickly by a phone call or it may take days while the information is prepared.

If the information was included at the start you will likely save time, plus the planner will get to the next application in the queue that bit quicker.

The attached guide will assist you to prepare applications for building consent.
