The 1 July start of the DCC’s enhanced kerbside rubbish and recycling collection service is getting closer.

Read the recycling and rubbish guide delivered with your new kerbside collection bins. You’ll find out exactly what gets sorted into each of the four bins. The guide has a calendar showing you what bins to put out and when.

The guide is available in several languages on our website along with video instructions. The new and improved DCC Kerbside Collection app is available to download for free from Google Play or the App Store. It shows you what to sort into each of the kerbside bins, plus collection day notifications and updates if there are delays due to weather events or changes to collection days.

Remember, DCC rubbish bag sales end on 30 June. We’re busy building an Organics Receivals Building at the Green Island Landfill for the contents from your green-lidded bin to be shredded. At first the shredded material will go to a composting facility at Timaru but we plan to build our own facility soon.
