A routine assessment of the Dunedin City Council Building Consent Authority was carried out by International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) in September 2019.

The assessment mainly concentrated on implementation of our policies and procedures.  

Ten general non-compliance's were received of which six were cleared while the auditors were on site.  The remaining non-compliance's relate to; not recording enough reasons for decisions, specified system and compliance schedule oversights, and older building consents without a code compliance certificate decision.   

The non-compliance's have given us an opportunity to review and make improvements to our processes with good progress being made towards clearing them.
