Safeguarding and Child Protection Seminar

  • Date: Thursday, 16 November
  • Time: 9.30am - 3.30pm
  • Costs: Free

This training is your starting point on your safeguarding and child protection learning journey. It would also serve as a good refresher as it is an introduction to the essentials of safeguarding and child protection. You will gain an understanding of the impact of child abuse and neglect, including family violence and sexual violence, along with the knowledge of what you can do to prevent and minimise the risk of harm to tamariki and rangatahi. You will gain confidence in the actions you need to take when you are worried about a child or young person. This knowledge is essential for everyone who works with our tamariki and rangitahi.

All content has been developed in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and thus discusses impacts of colonisation and upholds mātauranga Māori as crucial in working with whānau and their tamariki.
