Producer statements

Building Services Team —

A producer statement is a statement completed by suitably qualified and experienced designers or building professionals confirming the design or construction has been completed in accordance with certain provisions of the New Zealand Building Code.

Producer statements supplied as part of a building consent application (for design) will only be accepted from the following recognised authors: 

Producer statements submitted as part of the construction process are accepted from recognised authors as above and: 

  • approved authors on an accredited Building Consent Authority Producer Statement register
  • New Zealand Registered Electricians
  • South Island IQP's (Independent Qualified Person)
  • ERMA (Environmental Risk Management Authority)
  • HASNO (Hazardous Substances and New Organism) Register of Test Certifiers.

The producer statement must be current, clearly identify the location and scope of work proposed, and confirm compliance with the appropriate building code clauses.
