Buying or selling a home? Don't forget your CCC!

Dunedin City Council —

A Code Compliance Certificate (CCC) confirms work carried out complies with a building consent. If you don't have one, it could impact on the sale of your home.

Whether you are buying or selling, a CCC is a valuable document. Potential buyers want to know a house has one before they invest, and a house without one may sell for less.

Obtaining a CCC can be simple, but there are a few key steps to remember. Find out more here.

To help speed up the process, make sure you have all the information requested by the site inspector (or detailed on the Record of Required Site Inspections issued with the building consent).

We recommend uploading the information online to avoid delays. Please don't email the information directly to the inspector!

For commercial building work that includes changes to specified systems (such as fire sprinklers), please make sure all the required forms are submitted to us first - before applying for a CCC. More information can be found here.
