A code compliance certificate (CCC) is one of the most important documents you can have. A CCC means you and future owners can be sure that the consented building work was completed to the appropriate standard.

There are many building consents within our city that do not have their CCC issued, of which many building owners will be unaware.  It is very important that you apply for your CCC as soon as possible once the building work has been completed.

We are currently monitoring older building consents that do not have a CCC.  Letters sent to the current owner specify required actions and timeframes in which to respond to us.  If there is no response and we are unable to determine that the building work is compliant then the CCC will be refused.  Note this does not prevent you from booking inspections or applying for a CCC in the future.
