Who's New in Building Services?

Building Services Team —

The processing, inspections and administration teams have recently welcomed new staff members into their fold.

Corey Barrett,  Mike Hart, Tom Caulfield,  Darryn Wilkie and Kris Hiltrop have joined the consent processing team, John McLaren the inspections team, Paula Wylie and Holly Maxwell the building administration team.  Andrew Roberts has joined the drainage investigations team.

With them they bring a raft of expertise and experience that is required to work in the busy Building Services department.

Darryn previously owned and operated a Landmark Homes Franchise in the Queenstown and Central Otago area.  His experience in working with designers and project managers has helped him immensely when dealing with Building Services customers. " I bring a variety of experience to the team from my 14 years plus in the construction industry from owning and operating a successful construction business, to quantity surveying, project management and practical site experience.  We relocated from Queenstown to Dunedin in June, and I'm enjoying working with the Building Services team".

Corey Barrett states, " I am the better looking of the two Corey’s that work in the office.  I come from a building background with 13 years experience in residential/ light commercial construction. I’ve built mainly around the lower  South Island with both timber and steel framed houses. I’m thoroughly enjoying my 1st year of consent processing and hopefully I bring a unique style of humour and knowledge to the consent processing team".

Tom Caulfield was previously employed by the Dunedin City Council as the Drainage Investigation Officer.  "My previous role with the Dunedin City Council entailed dealing with complaints and general queries from members of the public and various Council departments.  As a building consent processing officer, specialising in plumbing and drainage, I am discovering a whole new world of rules, regulations and requirement’s.  I work in a great team who have a wealth of knowledge who are both supportive and encouraging".

Tom was replaced by Andrew Roberts as drainage investigations officer.  Andrew has a background in drainage and was self employed  before coming to Building Services.

Mike Hart, a keen traveller and is currently enjoying the sights of Canada and the USA.  He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and skills gained from working as project manager and construction foreman on large commercial building projects.

Kris Hiltrop originates from Belgium but has worked and lived in New Zealand for the last 11 years. Kris, a qualified teacher, decided to try something new after he arrived in NZ and worked hard in becoming a certifying plumber and drainlayer. His knowledge supports the rest of the consent processing team.

John McLaren comes to us with a background in construction work.  He has been self employed for the last 25 years, mainly working in alterations and new builds and brings a lot of practical experience to the inspections team.

And lastly, the additions to the administration team are  Paula and Holly. Paula lived and worked in Australia before seeing the light and returning to New Zealand and joining us. Our customers enjoy her cheerful nature.  Holly's vast experience in customer service and her extensive back ground in real estate will be advantageous to Building Services.
