The advisory group membership includes the following positions (as well as other membership that has already been determined):

Advisory Group Workshops

Members of the advisory group will be asked to participate in four workshops, each expected to run for three hours. It is expected that the first workshop will be in July and the last before the end of September 2023. There may be some minor time commitments following the workshops. It is anticipated that each workshop will cover two separate topics. The workshop topics are likely to cover issues including:

  • Opportunities to raise the profile of Dunedin’s built heritage
  • How best to support heritage re-use and mitigate demolition by neglect
  • Encouraging use of vacant space in heritage buildings
  • Earthquake prone buildings
  • Explore options for building capacity and capability in the local conservation and construction sectors
  • Building Act and Resource Management Act requirements
  • Considering feedback from the community

Workshops are likely to be held late afternoon/early evening. Depending on the workshop topics, members may not be required to attend every workshop.
