Congratulations to the winners of the National Poetry Day 2021 Shape Poetry competition
The awards for our National Poetry Day Shape Poetry competition were presented at our National Poetry Day celebrations on Thursday 9th December.
The winners of the adult section are:
1st: Madeleine Child with Take a Body
2nd: Liz Breslin with Orange-You-Glad
3rd: Susan Wardell with Self-Portrait as a Bowl of Fruit
And our young (under 18) winners:
1st: Karuna Yang with My Hen
2nd: Lochie Grant of George Street Normal School with We Are One
3rd: Brooklyn Fahey of Grants Braes School with Tornado
Dunedin Public Libraries in partnership with Otago-Southland NZ Society of Authors would like to thank Carolyn McCurdie and Robyn Maree-Pickens for judging this competition, and Phantom National Poetry Day for sponsoring the prize money.
