Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature Robert Burns Poetry Competition: "Here's a Health to them that's Awa"
Write a poem in English or Scots on the theme of ‘freedom’ inspired by Burns’ poem Here’s a Health to them that’s Awa.
Cash prizes to the winners of the first prize, generously sponsored by the Otago Scottish Heritage Council, Lee and Royden Somerville, and the Dunedin Public Libraries Association.

Submit your poem with your entry form by Monday 30th November 2020.
There are categories for unpublished and published poets.

Rap Like Robbie Poetry Competition
Write a poem inspired by the work of Robert Burns and be in with a chance to score $500, generously sponsored by the Dunedin-Edinburgh Sister City Society.
Our theme this year is ‘freedom’ which is inspired by Burns’ poem Here’s a Health to them that’s Awa. You can use this theme or write about whatever you like, in English or you can have a go at writing in Scots. It can be any style – just read a bit of Burns’ work and see where it takes you.
To enter you must be aged between 12 and 17 years old and a resident of Otago.
