Disability Door FAQ
Monday 13th May – Friday 21st June
Why is the disability door into the carpark unavailable?
This door is receiving a long awaited upgrade to make access to the library easier for those with disabilities.
How long will it be unavailable?
Monday 13th May – Friday 21st June
Will the new door be more accessible?
Yes! We worked with local Accredited Barrier Free Advisor, John Marrable, who’s recommendations were sent straight to the architect to inform the plans for the new entrance. This new design includes clear way finding and an automatic opening door.
People will still need to ask for access as the entrance is through private staff only areas.
How do I access the library?
From the library carpark you can walk up the brick steps to the front doors, or walk via Municipal Lane, across the Plaza to the library’s front doors.
What other options are there?
