As we approach the festive season, we hope you’ll have the chance to take a well-deserved break and enjoy time with loved ones.

During this time, Dunedin Public Libraries will be operating under adjusted hours between 25 December 2024 and 5 January 2025 to allow our hardworking staff the same opportunity.

During this period, only the ground floor of the City Library will be open. You can still visit the library, access free wi-fi, and there will still be access to all library resources that can be borrowed. Just ask our friendly staff and they can get it for you from the other floors.

We understand some members of our community may be disappointed our services will be limited during this time, but please rest assured this is only temporary, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Here are the City Library hours over the holiday season:

All other libraries (Blueskin Bay, Mosgiel, Port Chalmers, South Dunedin and Waikouaiti) are closed between 25 December 2024 and 5 January 2025.

From Monday, 6 January 2025, all libraries will resume normal hours, with the exception of the Bookbus, which will return to service on Monday, 13 January 2025.
