LAND OF GRANITE TEEN WRITING COMPETITION

Dunedin Public Libraries in partnership with Dunedin Public Art Gallery and Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature bring you a writing competition for teens inspired by an upcoming exhibition at the Gallery.

We invite students to visit A LAND OF GRANITE: McCahon and Otago exhibition web page to view some examples of Colin McCahon's artworks, and be inspired to put pen to paper, creating a story of no more than 750 words.

The competition is open to high school students in years 9-13.

Entries for the competition close on 11th May, and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Prize-winners will be announced publicly on Saturday 30th May. (Winners will be notified on Friday 22nd May)

Entries may be submitted online via the Dunedin Public Libraries competition page https://www.dunedinlibraries.govt.nz/whats-on/competitions where you will also find a full list of terms and conditions and a PDF of the entry form, should you wish to download print copies. If you wish to submit a print copy of your work, please email it, with a copy of your entry form, to kay.mercer@dcc.govt.nz. We cannot accept postal entries at this time.
