Tips for a Better World

Writers need readers!

Did you know the New Zealand Society of Authors holds a SALON once a month?

At SALON you can listen to some of the best writers from across the globe, for free! SALON is held on the second Monday of each month at the Athenaeum Library, tucked away between Thistle and The Craic in the Octagon. Now in its fourth year, SALON hosts visiting writers from the Caselberg Trust, from the Robert Lloyd Cottage, and from the Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies, as well as writers you already know and love from the local community. Last year’s writers included Elspeth Sandys, Fiona Farrell, Liam McIlvanney, Lesley Glasiter, Andrew Greig, and Iain Maloney.

So, if you would like to listen to and engage with a variety of quality writers, SALON is the place for you. Bring your friends, bring a bottle, sit back and prepare to be entertained.

Readings start at 7pm.
